What is the IC-Prog Software Used For?
The IC-Prog Software is used to program
your assembled code into the PIC MICRO.

Will the IC-Prog software and Development boards work on Windows XP or Windows 2000?
Yes. The software has it's own I/O driver when using windows 2000 / XP.

Can I program in C or Basic or other languages with the Development Boards / Programmers?
Yes!!! You may write your code in whichever language you prefer from Basic to C and even Java, Provided that the complier of your Choice is able to generate a intel hex file format to be loaded into the PIC Micro. The Melabs PIC Basic Compiler and the HI TECH PIC C Compiler appear to be VERY Popular.

Can I use the Pic Development board just as a Programmer?
Yes although you may what to fit a 40 Pin ZIF socket if you intend to plug and remove the chips to prevent damage to the socket and the micro.

What other PIC Micros will I be able to use with the PIC Development Board?
The PIC Development board was designed around the PIC16F877 but you are able to use a majority of Microchips mid range flash 40 pin Micros. With our 18 – 40 pin adaptor board you may also use the 18 pin mid range flash micros which including the ever popular PIC16F84.

Can I use the development board to program the ATMEL AVR?
No ! although the IC-Prog software supports the ATMEL range of micro’s the hardware doesn’t.They use a slightly different programming method and also have a different pin configuration

Can I use the PIC18F series of Micros with the Development board Version 2.10?
With the new Development board ver 2.10 you may now
use the 18F Series of PIC Micros.
